Those darn Hipsters – Otto von Berlin visits the Creative Hotspot Kreuzberg

You guys. The other day I went out for a walk through Berlin-Kreuzberg with my owner Gregor and I have noticed something. No matter where you look, especially in my favorite territory the Paul-Linke-Ufer, you find those all-in-black-dressed, bearded, Cappuccino drinking, with black squared Apple-thingys equipped guys with their Vintage-styled girl counterparts running around. They walk into this vermilion red building where the online marketing agency of Sociomantic is located at. My owner calls those horrible creatures Hipster. We follow those Hipsters into the building and have a look what Otto von Berlin created in that space.

It’s quite dark in here – I like that a lot! Because in one thing I have to agree with my partner: ‘Don’t be afraid of darker colors’, he always says. Gregor always tries to combine his personal style into his client’s projects. He’s always talking about a Dark Scandinavian, not sure what that’s supposed to mean, but the final result always looks fantastic. Dark wood, black surfaces, tall white ceilings, old-industrial pillars and a lot of metal. Yep. That sounds like Gregor’s perfect urban playground. Not as pretty as my Hasenheide, but still – typisch Berlin.

During the preparation with the client, I heard Gregor talk a lot about neon-tubes. Now that I reflect, he rarely used those illuminating throwing-sticks. He loves to use things that he has never used before. You did a great job on that one, buddy! And I really like it as well that you used so much wood – it feels almost, like you took the trees from the Paul-Linke-Ufer to implement them into this green-office-loft. Phew, that’s a lot of different choices to mark my territory. But if I get caught, my doggy bum will get busted – I think I’ll wait till I get outside again.

We are leaving the open-space office of Sociomantic and stroll along the canal for a bit longer. The weather is just amazing. This peace and quiet – that really needed to be interrupted by an annoying sound. Hey… Wait a minute… Beard, black clothes, Cappuccino in one hand and a black squared Apple-thingy in the other hand. Dear dogs in heaven, I think I’m not seeing right! Gregor… Are you, are you one of those Hipsters as well?!
